Who We Are
Troop 81 is chartered out of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Neenah, Wisconsin.  We had our first Eagle scout in 1995, with twenty-four more since, and more at their heels! We have a good combination of new and experienced Scouts and a wide range of activities for all.

What activities does Troop 81 plan?

Troop 81 usually has two meetings a month during the school year (August to May).  We generally plan at least one weekend campout per month year round.   Click here for pictures.   During the summer months, we attend a week long summer camp in addition to a high adventure trip.  During late summer and mid to late spring, we offer whitewater rafting and canoeing.  The fall of the year is an excellent time to go rockclimbing and biking.  We even have activities planned for the winter

Are the adult leaders involved in the Troop?

Troop 81 is a youth led organization.  The boys choose what they want to do at planning meetings and set the dates.  From there the adults help the scouts make the arrangements for lodging and transportation for the campouts.  All the financing is handled by the adults.  Our Scoutmaster has great trust in the youth leadership to make sure that everything goes well at meetings and on weekend campouts.

Our Adults, and Leaders

We encourage each family to become involved with the troop. This can be in the form of Committee Member, Assistant Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, or just coming along on a weekend outing. Moms as well as dads are always welcome. And there are opportunities for family activities from time to time too!
